Last updated: June 2025
About This Statement
Lockers World (operated by Alchemy Ventures, Hong Kong Business Registration No. 79845396) is committed to complying with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which is contained in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Australian business address: 1/457-459 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2010, Australia. This statement applies to all purchases made through lockers.world by customers in Australia and New Zealand.
1. Consumer Guarantees
Under the ACL, our products come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. When you purchase a locker from Lockers World, you are entitled to guarantees that:
- Products are of acceptable quality (safe, durable, free from defects, acceptable in appearance and finish)
- Products match any description or sample provided
- Products are fit for any purpose we have said they are suitable for
- Goods will be available within the timeframe we have stated
- You have title and undisturbed possession of the goods
- There are no undisclosed securities over the goods
2. What Is Not Covered
Consumer guarantees do not apply if you:
- Misused the product in a way that caused the problem
- Knew of the fault before purchasing
- Modified the product yourself, causing the issue
Normal wear and tear, damage caused by improper installation, and cosmetic damage that does not affect function are not covered under statutory guarantees (though may be addressed under our voluntary warranty).
3. Our Voluntary Warranty
In addition to your statutory rights, Lockers World offers a 5-year voluntary warranty on all timber and hardware components under normal commercial use. This warranty covers:
- Manufacturing defects in timber, joinery, or hardware
- Structural failure under normal load conditions
- Premature degradation of finish under normal indoor conditions
Warranty claims must be submitted in writing to sales@lockers.world with photographic evidence within the warranty period.
4. Minor vs Major Failures
Your rights under the ACL differ depending on the severity of the problem:
Minor Failure
If a product has a minor failure, we may choose to repair, replace, or refund the product. We aim to resolve minor issues within a reasonable time.
Major Failure
A major failure occurs when the product: (a) would not have been purchased if the fault was known; (b) is significantly different from the description; (c) is substantially unfit for its purpose; or (d) is unsafe. In the case of a major failure, you are entitled to a replacement or full refund.
